I love cooking, it is in my blood.  My cooking skills and joy was passed down to me from my Grandma and Mum and I wanted to pass those onto Daniel.  As his Mum it is my job to teach him how to cook for himself so I would always include and encourage Daniel to “help” in the kitchen.  He loved it!

when I thought about the recipes, I knew he would need a different way to be able to follow them by himself.  Once I started to write them down, I thought, its not just Daniel who needs recipes like these, it’s EVERYONE.  By changing the way recipes are presented, anyone no matter their abilities would be able to cook it.  

cooking is such an important life skill, it gives you a sense of achievement and independence when you cook something for yourself, friends and family. 

everyone should be able to experience this, no matter their challenges  - this sparked the beginnings of fyieverybodycooks.

showing Daniel how to cook something really helped as he copied what I did.  When he was cooking it in front of others it showed them that there are no limits and anyone can cook something.  So this highlighted a need to ‘show’ how to make the recipes.  As Daniel is SOOOO charming and charismatic, I thought the best way to show him, and everyone else, how to cook these recipes was through a YouTube cooking show.  Daniel is a natural in front of the camera and a star was born!

it is my goal that everybody should know how to cook something, no matter their abilities.  Through the cookbooks and the cooking show, we hope to achieve this globally.

hi, I’m Debbie, the creator and wri ter of the fyieverybodycooks cookbooks and the YouTube cooking show. 

my passion is to cook delicious, inventive, impressive food for my friends and family. 

cooking is in my blood. Being able to prepare a meal for a crowd is a genetic trait passed down to me from my late Mum and Grandma.  In my opinion two of the best cooks ever!  They taught me to cook the classic recipes that are simple but the hardest to master. I now think I have cracked some of their signature dishes, developing them into my own but still respecting its history. When my kids came along I wanted to teach them to cook.   Giving  them the confidence and independence to cook for their friends and hopefully ME!

I have always shared recipes and developed a good bank of them that I stored away.  So I had a good basis to pick out those that I thought were easy but challenging to go into the cookbook.  It was writing a cookbook that is different was a fantastic challenge. It is my aim to write a number of cookbooks based around different themes so that anyone who cooks from them will have their own bank that they can draw on.  I would also down the track love to work with other chefs to transform their recipes into this format.  How cool would it be if everyone could cook a Heston dish?
